He has founded and run several sports media and digital companies and has an unrivalled knowledge of what is required for sports rights-holders globally to achieve commercial goals. He was CEO of DAZN from its inception in 2016 until 2020, expanding it globally with Access Industries and Dentsu. Previously, as CEO of Perform Group, he floated the business on the FTSE 250, and acquired Opta, RunningBall and Goal.com. Additionally, Simon created WTA Media, FIBA Media, and Matchroom Boxing USA, serving on their boards and leading their global media rights strategies.

Shamik is an expert in launching and scaling new products and business models in sports, media and technology. As VP of Strategy for DAZN, he played a pivotal role in establishing the OTT platform as a leading sports broadcaster in Italy and Spain, managing rights investments (Serie A, LALIGA, F1) and major distribution deals (Sky, Telecom Italia, Telefonica). He has deep knowledge of media and broadcast business models and was heavily involved in day-to-day management from pricing and packaging, marketing and product decisions to drive revenue growth and profitability. He also led DAZN’s global launch across 200+ territories. Shamik holds an Economics degree from the London School of Economics and began his career as a strategy consultant.
